FRAMED BIRD’S EYE VIEW OF THE CITY OF PORTLAND MAINE, 1876.

The large folio view shows Portland and it’s harbor with many docks with ships, streets with buildings and outer land. The lithograph has light tinting and the bottom margin having a legend indicating hotels, manufacturers, churches and points of interest. On bottom edge “J.J. Stoner, Publisher, Madison, Wis. / Jos. Warner, Artist”, also “Chas. Shober & Co. Prop’s Chicago, Litho’g Co.” Housed in what appears to be it’s original walnut and gold frame, behind glass. SIZE: Sight 25-1/2″ x 37″. Overall 29″ x 40-1/2″. PROVENANCE: Maralyn Young estate, Arundel/Falmouth Maine, being sold unreserved. CONDITION: Not examined out of frame, appears to have full margins, there is age toning in vertical lines and knot marks from backboards.
