This type of plaque was mounted to the side to identify particular schooners. This particular example may not have been placed in use due to its pristine condition. Definitely 19th/20th century, the carving at either end in relief of a trailing vine in gold. The letters carved in and painted gold. Black sand finish background. SIZE: 7-1/2″ h x 96″ l.
