MARTIN BROS. WALL POCKET.

Martin Bros. wall pocket is in the form of a ghoulish dragon with rope in its mouth. Dragon is done in a deep brown glaze with blue highlights on face and rope. Hollow dragon’s body forms the pocket and is set against a round backplate with incised concentric circles. Backplate is a brown and cream colored glaze with a blue glazed lip. Marked on the backside “RW Martin London 12-1875”. SIZE: 5-1/2″ dia x 4″ d. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. Consignor states he was told there might be some restoration to the piece, but we see no evidence of that including under blacklight. 5-69102 (2,000-3,000) – Lot 2232
