SALESMAN SAMPLE SICKLE BAR MOWER WITH OB.Another fine example of a desirable agricultural model by the famed Adriance company of Poughkeepsie, New York. Brass, iron, and wood model with large traction wheel that is connected to a gear mechanism that when activated puts the sidebar blades in motion when pulled along the floor. A second lever raises and lowers the right wheel to allow it to turn. Pierced brass formed seat sits above with gearbox marked “Adriance Buckeye”. Retains plaque marked “106” (matching numbered plaque on case) and rests within its original dovetailed wooden carrying case, which houses its original cardboard insert detailing directions and proper care. The insert exhibits some wear and tear, but is in reasonably good condition. Retains dual tapered dowel swath bar tips (one with small sliver missing). Tongue extension no longer present. SIZE: 18” w x 11-1/4” l. CONDITION: Very good overall. Would benefit from an overall cleaning to removing years of shelf dust and buildup. Case is generally good with occasional splits to wood and lock mechanism needs attention. 1084-1 (4,000-6,000) – Lot 2226 Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Spring 2015 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price.
