This is one of the finest original examples of this plow to surface from one of the most recognized names in farm machinery. This classic walk-behind plow consists of a long wooden body with metal hardware and is hand painted in red, black and gold with “Oliver’s Chilled Patent” and “No. 40” across the top, “Manufactured by South Bend Iron Works, South Bend, Ind” on the right, and a variety of patent dates from the 1870s across the left. The original red paint and gold stenciling is so strong, it will knock your socks off with large iron plow blade exhibiting a wonderful dark patina. SIZE: 23” l x 8-1/2” h.
