ADRIANCE, PLATT & CO SALESMAN SAMPLE MOWER WITH OB.

This outstanding example comes fresh out of a New York State home, having been in the same family since the consignor’s grandfather acquired it as a salesman for this very product. Contained within its original fitted carrying case, it has been well cared for and protected these many years and retains strong original paint. Painted in old red with yellow spoked wheels and red pinstripes, this chain drive example has formed seat, various levers and gears including idle switch. Retains plaque marked “216” (matching numbered plaque on case) and nickel connecting piece on the tongue reading, “C M Clinton, Model Maker, Ithaca, NY”. Interior of lid retains original cardboard insert in very good condition detailing directions and proper care. One of the finer examples our firm has had the pleasure of handling. SIZE: 18-1/2” w x 21” l (including post). CONDITION: Very good to excellent with some chipping to paint and average wear. Wooden swath bar flag is broken, but piece is present. Also retains secondary dowel, which is currently detached. Case shows alligatoring to finish and only partial leather straps, lid has horizontal crack, but does not detract. 48748-1 (5,000-8,000) – Lot 2224
