ISFAHAN SILK ORIENTAL RUG, CENTRAL PERSIA.20th Century. This fine example with “Shah Abbas” central rondel medallion in pale indigo, wine red, and ivory set within a midnight blue field of dense floral vinery within pale blue/gray and ivory spandrels all similarly wrought within an ivory main border of delicate scrolling vinery within multiple cream color and pale gold guard borders. SIZE: 6′ 7″ x 10′ 1″ including fringe. PROVENANCE: From a Maine/Texas estate being sold unreserved. CONDITION: Rug retains full pile, it should be noted that the ivory thread varies in tone depending on the angle from which it is observed and any irregularities are from the reflection or refraction of the light on these threads. At the outer corner of one spandrel within the first two guard borders is some evidence of a light stain, otherwise very good overall. 51358-17 (1,000-1,500) – Lot 2221
