LOT OF THREE PEPPERBOX PISTOLS.

1) SHARPS & HANKINS MODEL 1C. SN 26069. Cal. .22. Breech loading 4-shot pepper box pistol with 2-1/2″ bbl group, blue and silver finish, 1-pc walnut grip. SN is stamped on butt and bottom of bbl, left side of frame is marked “C. Sharps Patent 1859” in a circle, right side is marked “C. Sharps & Co. Philada. PA.” CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbl assembly is a silver/gray patina overall with some roughness. Bores are dark with traces of rifling. SN is sharp. Frame is a mustard/brown patina overall with slight traces of silverplate. Receiver marking on left side is sharp, right side is slightly worn. Grips are very good and show handling marks and high point wear. 2) SHARPS & HANKINS MODEL 1C. SN 18822. Cal. .22. Breech loading 4-shot pepper box pistol with 2-1/2″ bbl group, blue and silver finish, 1-pc walnut grip. SN is stamped on butt and bottom of bbl, left side of frame is marked “C. Sharps Patent 1859” in a circle, right side is marked “C. Sharps & Co. Philada. PA.” Sharps pepperboxes are housed in a period mahogany box with green felt lining, sliding lid, and cartridge blocks. CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbl group is a smooth gray/brown patina overall with some roughness on the right side. Bores are dark with visible rifling. SN is clear. Frame is a mustard/yellow patina overall, shows some punch-dot decoration around the breech of the bbl and top of the grip. Receiver marks are slightly washed out on both sides. SN is clear. Grips are very good with light handling marks overall. Case is fair to good, lid is in two pieces, box shows handling marks overall, lining shows considerable wear. 3) ALLEN THURBER PEPPER BOX PISTOL. SN 98. Cal. .32. 3″ bbl group, blue finish, 2-pc walnut grips. Bbl is marked “Allen-Thurber & Co.” in one flute and “Worcester” in another flute. SN 98 is stamped at breech end. Left side of hammer is marked “Allen’s Patent”. Nipple shield is not present. Frame has broad scroll/floral engraving. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl group is a smooth gray/blue patina overall with a hint of blue in the flutes and sharp markings. Frame is a silver/gray patina overall. Engraving is sharp.
