MARQUETRY EBONIZED PORTICO SHELF CLOCK WITH DOME.

Second quarter 19th century, France. Of typical, form the scrolling crest on a gadrooned platform above the frieze raised on free standing classical rope twist columns with gilt metal capitals and bases centering the round porcelain dial with Roman numeral chapter ring with time and strike apertures. The brass movement striking on a bell is signed “Vincente & Cie”. The clock mounted within a cast foliate circular frame. The original pendulum similarly cast and headed by a lyre form adjuster. The whole on a stepped marquetry platform base with reeded molding. The clock is accompanied by a large clear glass dome of the 19th century mounted on its original ebonized base. SIZE: 19″ t x 9-3/4″ w x 5-1/2″ d. Dome 24″ t x 13″ w x 9″ d. CONDITION: The movement cleaned in operable condition with original pendulum and key.
