FINE ITALIAN RENAISSANCE REVIVAL GILT WOOD CARVED FIGURAL MIRROR.

First half 19th century, probably Italy. The tombstone arch beveled mirror plate within a molded surround flanked by free standing cherubs with wings and cloaks, each with outstretched arms posed on C-scrolled gilt wood pedestals, each beneath classical corbels with scrolled volutes supporting the stepped architectural cornice with carved guilloches. The mirror on a stepped molded base. The whole with fine gold gilding. SIZE: 21-1/2″ t x 19-1/4″ w. CONDITION: The mirror remains in good original condition with untouched surface and with no restoration or repair, some minor losses to gilding on molded base, back edge of frieze, and top edge of cornice, otherwise with minor and minimal abrasions. 51376-6 (2,000-3,000) – Lot 2209
