FRENCH PROVINCIAL OAK BOMBAY COMMODE.

First half 19th century, France. Rectangular top with serpentine front and beveled and molded edge above the conforming case with bombay sides and serpentine front. Fitted with two aligned short drawers over three long drawers, all with molded edges. Top drawers centering an oval molded panel with ornate cast-brass escutcheon. Long drawers each with similar central panels; each with cast escutcheon. All with casbt-brass foliate bails. The bombay case sides with scrolling molded borders, the whole raised on cloven hoof frontal legs and square rear legs. The commode with paneled backboard. SIZE: 40″ h x 50-1/2″ w x 26-3/4″ d.
