REMINGTON DOUBLE DERRINGER TYPE 1 SECOND MODEL PISTOL WITH TWO PIECE MOTHER OF PEARL GRIPS.

SN 183. Cal. 41RF. 3″ rnd bbls. Full nickel finish with 2-pc Mother of Pearl grips. Bbl shows 2-line Remington address with Elliot’s patent mark on top flat. SN is stamped on left side of grip frame under grip. PROVENANCE: Bruce Burtner Collection. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain nearly all of the nickel finish that has slightly dulled and shows minuscule scratching overall. Hinge is intact. Bores are frosty with strong rifling. Bbl mark is sharp. Frame also retains nearly all of the nickel finish that has dulled somewhat with some light handling marks. Pearl grips are fine and intact. Hammer, trigger, ejector and screws all show traces of blue finish. A very nice example of an early Remington Double Derringer made circa 1868 to 1888 with an estimated quantity of 14,000 made. 51641-11 TEP (1,500-2,000) – Lot 2198
