MUTOSCOPE OLD MILL VENDING MACHINE.A visually attractive machine that contained candy or other edibles. When the coin was deposited in the slot and the knob turned, the windmill blades would push the product to the chute and deposit the prize to the receptacle in the lower left corner for the child to retrieve. The motif is a Dutch windmill, which the cast aluminum front allowed an attractive, multi-colored facade that would draw the viewer’s eye to this 1920s coin-op vendor. An incredibly simple mechanism, but most appealing, these machines were a mainstay in many various locations. Machine is on its original base, which is set for eye level of children. Castings are intact and even the original money box (needs minor solder repair) is retained within. A good solid original machine and as one would expect, just like a carousel animal, over the years, the paint has been touched up and enhanced. SIZE: 52″ h (on stand) x 17″ w x 12″ d. CONDITION: Good working order, otherwise as described above. 1086-5 (2,000-3,000) – Lot 2195 Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Spring 2015 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price.
