RARE DANIEL A. BARNES PATENTED SWAN FORM IRON.

Circa 1877, New York. This rare example for which Daniel Barnes received a patent (Patent #197,958) in the form of a swan swiveling on an iron base. The turned handle joined to the swan’s neck, the rear support joined to cygnet which acts as a swiveling latch. The whole in silver paint. SIZE: 5-1/2″ t x 7-1/2″ l x 3-1/2″ w.
