SCARCE COLT MODEL 1877 DA SHERIFF’S MODEL LIGHTNING REVOLVER.

SN 89259. Cal 38 Colt. Nickel finish with scarce 3″ bbl without ejector housing, half moon front sight and 2-line address with model & caliber marking on left side. Left side of frame has 3-line patent dates and Rampant Colt in a broken circle. Mounted with 2-pc Rampant Colt hard rubber grips, left grip is hand scratched in the inside “THE “GEM” / SALOON / EL PASO, TEXAS” with the date 1895 in the toe recess. Accompanied by a brown leather mail order Safari brand pocket holster. CONDITION: Very fine, all matching except grips which are un-numbered. Overall retains about 70% orig nickel. Grips show heavy wear but are sound. Mechanics are fine, strong bore with fine pitting. Holster is fine. 51788-4 JRL (1,000-1,500) – Lot 2182
