LARGE LOT OF COLUMBUS GEORGIA ANTEBELLUM AND CONFEDERATE NEWSPAPERS.

This lot includes 54 rare Confederate papers, The Daily Columbus Enquirer, issues from June of 1862 to November of 1862, papers are 2 page or 4 page. Most appear to have been taken from one bound volume. 2 copies of 1846 Columbus Enquirer August 5th and August 19th 1846 are also included. 3 copies of the United States Telegraph from Washington 1831, and a few other 19th century newspapers. PROVENANCE: Greene Museum of Southern History. CONDITION: Columbus papers mostly intact and complete with some small holes on left edge, some cracked at that same seam, some chipping on edges not effecting text overall, foxing and acid burn. Other papers are mostly very good with typical staining and foxing found on rag paper. 9-28033-3 (800-1,200) – Lot 2175
