RARE 1860 ABRAHAM LINCOLN PARADE TORCH.The hollow brass plated tin eagle held kerosene which fueled two wicks, one on each wing top. Originally held by a swiveling wire mount atop a pole. This torch and others like it were carried in the torchlight parades and rallies which were a critical element of 19th century American politics. A wonderful piece of Americana. SIZE: 9-1/2″ h x 9″ w. CONDITION: Front and back body flattened, typical small dents from age, some separation to weld areas, otherwise very good, nice patina. 9-25003 (1,000-2,000) – Lot 2174
