ELECTION DAY 1815, JOHN LEWIS KRIMMEL ENGRAVING.

American. Rare proof of Krimmel’s unfinished engraving exhibited as a painting in 1816, the image depicts Philadelphians engaged in active political participation at the close of the War of 1812. Large folio engraving with incredible detail. John Lewis Krimmel (1786 – 1821) emigrated from Germany to the Philadelphia in 1809 and became a member of the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts.
