PAIR OF HEPPLEWHITE MAHOGANY CUTLERY BOXES WITH FITTED INTERIORS.

First quarter 19th century, England or America. Each with hinged sloping lid with demilune front and fine figural mahogany with contrasting string inlaid borders above the conforming cabinet fitted with string inlaid mahogany cutlery compartments. The tops with delicate brass rings, the case each with shaped silvered escutcheon. SIZE: 14-1/2″ t x 8-3/4″ w x 11-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Boxes retain old polished surfaces with restoration and stabilization to veneers, spot losses to inlays at rear of each lid and at lower and upper front edge of both lids.
