INDO-ISFAHAN SEMI-ANTIQUE “TREE OF LIFE” CARPET.

Late 19th/early 20th century, India. The poled arabesque medallion with deep indigo and pale blue scrolling vinery on a pale blue ground replete with delicate stylistic trees of foliate vinery, each corner woven with a pair of slender indigo and beige urns above exotic birds all within an ivory and gold main border of scrolling floral vinery within gold guard borders of floral trellis-work. SIZE: 17′ 5″ x 18′ 6″. CONDITION: The carpet with overall even wear and with areas of staining, one corner in area of urns and additionally with four aligned “damp” stains now showing as areas of pale white. Additional wear along center line with some areas of foundation showing. 51321-4 (2,000-3,000) – Lot 2154
