Wonderful large oil on canvas interior scene shows a child wearing a red dress with black stripe accents. The child holds a hat which rests on a tufted black upholstered saber leg side chair. The right leg and foot raised & resting on a colorful hatbox, presumably from the recently acquired hat he holds. A floral decorated floor covering and an interesting outside landscape seen through the window behind him with a house, barn, and water. Housed in it’s original gesso decorated gilt wood frame. SIZE: 36″ x 30″. Overall: 41-1/2″ x 35-1/2″. CONDITION: Original canvas with five patches to verso, craquelure and restoration with inpainting, stretcher lines evident, otherwise good. 51420-3 (2,000-4,000) – Lot 2147
