FINE FEDERAL EAGLE INLAID MAHOGANY TALL CASE CLOCK.

First quarter 19th century, Patterson area, New Jersey. The bonnet with molded swan’s neck pediment terminating in stamped brass floral rosettes alternating with ball and spire top finials. The frieze with contrasting book edge veneer panels above the arched door flanked by freestanding colonettes with Doric brass capitals and bases fitted to the case with conforming book edge contrasting inlays. The case door with patriotic eagle inlay within an oval, flanked by engaged quarter columns above an inlay with classical urn over the cove molded box base with fan inlaid rondel within line inlaid borders continuing to pointed feet. The eight day brass movement with calendar dial striking on bell. The painted iron face plate with time, strike and calendar apertures within the Arabic numeral chapter ring centering a sweep seconds subsidiary dial. The face decorated with gilt rondel in the arch and with red, white, and blue rayed spandrels. Clock is offered with three finials, two weights, two keys and a winder. SIZE: 97″ h x 15″ throat w (20″ case w) x 10″ d. CONDITION: Movement professionally cleaned and appears operable. Case with very good rich color and patina.
