*MARLIN MODEL 1893 DELUXE TAKEDOWN RIFLE.SN 171918. Cal. .30 W.C.F. 26″ half-round, half-octagon bbl. Full mag. Takedown “Rocky Mountain” front sight, sporting rear sight. Blue and case colored finish. Checkered straight grained American walnut stocks with pistol grip and hard rubber buttplate with Marlin logo. Bbl shows two-line Marlin address and patent mark, rolled on top flat in front of rear sight. “Special Smokeless Steel” is rolled on left flat next to rear sight. Cal mark appears on top flat at breech. Receiver is marked “Marlin Safety” with finials on top flat. SN is marked on bottom front of frame. Model No. is stamped on upper tang. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl and mag tube show an even plum brown patina overall with generous traces of blue in protected areas. Markings are sharp. Sights are very good. Bore is frosty with strong rifling. Receiver and bolt retain 50% case color finish that is brilliant in protected areas around the hammer. Most of the wear is at the carry point. Loading gate shows generous traces of fire blue. Receiver screws show a generous amount of blue finish and are unmolested. Hammer and lever are a grey brown patina with generous traces of case color remaining. Receiver markings are sharp. Stocks are very good and retain nearly all of the varnish finish with handling marks and dents commensurate with the age of the rifle. Checkering is sharp. Buttplate is very good with sharp checkering and a clear logo. A very nice Marlin Model 1893 rifle in far above average condition. 51761-6 (2,000-3,000) C&R – Lot 2128
