SHAKER SWING HANDLED BUCKET IN RED PAINT.Early 19th century, NY. Pine and ash, attrib: Mt. Lebanon (or Hancock), NY. Original red paint. buttonhole banded with fine elongated joinery, tapered pine staves with inset bottom. Carved handle with spatulate ends, secured by mushroom cap knobs. Untouched worn surfaces, with fine patina. Ref: Shaker Woodenware, Sprigg & Johnson, p 123. SIZE: 8-1/2″ t. 10-1/2″ dia.
