FINE CHIPPENDALE ROCOCO CARVED GILT WOOD MIRROR.Last quarter 18th century, England. The mirror plate in two parts within a deeply carved foliate gilt wood frame. The C-scroll molded crest of pendant leaf tips with foliate ears extending upwards and angled towards the cresting. The frame sides additionally carved with oak leaves. SIZE: Overall 68″ t x 45″ w. CONDITION: Mirror retains original surface now age darkened. Proper right ear with loss to molded edges and additional leaf tip loss between ear and frame edge, some additional old leaf tip losses throughout. Plaster and gilding loss proper left side of frame at mid point, otherwise good. 51083-1 (1,500-2,000) – Lot 2123
