CARVED MINIATURE CHEST OF DRAWERS.

Mid 19th century, PA. Walnut and pine. Probably intended as a bride’s chest, decorated with deep relief carving throughout. Original finish with darker finished carved elements. Dovetailed case with mortised double reel and ring turned feet. The front with numerous carved motifs, including hex symbols, six point stars, etc. The top with central carved heart beneath “1850”, flanked by meandering leafage sprays. Right side initialed “I D”, with leafage spray and diamond carving. Left side with leafage spray and diamond carving. Applied carved molding, top and bottom. The drawers fitted with original reel and mushroom cap knobs and original brass locks. SIZE: 11″ x 16″ x 17-1/2″. CONDITION: Very good, original condition. 9-96395 (2,000-5,000) – Lot 2123
