SCENIC DECORATED TRINKET BOX.

Early 19th century, New England. Pine, original paint, fantasy landscape decorated lid, with sailboat on river, various buildings, trees, gardens and a person with hat. The sides and front with meandering vine in wide band border, the central areas floral and leafage decorated. Bottom pencil inscribed “Grandmother Bartlett Gave Me When I Was A Small Girl. Old then. Lizzi M Brown Center. I am 70 in Jan 1928″. Original wire hinges, the box pegged throughout, blue laid paper interior. SIZE: 8″ x 5-1/2″ x 3”.
