*HIGH QUALITY CHRISTOPH FUNK 20 BORE BOXLOCK EJECTOR SINGLE TRIGGER GAME GUN.

SN 37335. Cal. 20 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 29-1/2″ Shoe lump bbls are fitted with matted rib holding two white beads. Tops of bbls are engraved “CHRISTOPH FUNK” and “SUHL”. Bbl flats are stamped with German nitro proofs for 2-3/4″ chambers, with a proof date of 7/34. A sling loop is soldered to bottom rib. Coin finished ogee backed boxlock action features non-automatic safety, crossbolt third fastener, side clips, and single selective trigger with selector on right, similar to that found on L. C. Smith’s. Action is engraved with near full coverage typical Germanic scrolling acanthus in beaded background, along with game scenes on sides and bottom; a trio of rabbits on left, four ducks on right, and three pheasant on bottom. Bottom of action is also stamped with Funk triangular logo, which can also be found on left side of rear bbl lump. Top lever is gold inlaid with monogram “LG” and “1”. Trigger guard is of horn. Well marbled and nicely figured European walnut horn capped pistol grip buttstock measures 13-5/8″ over old red pad, and features right hand shadow line cheekpiece, nicely fluted comb, point pattern checkering at grip, inset horn diamond drop points, and a sling loop on toe line. Matching splinter ejector forend has Deeley release. Bore diameter: left -.627, right -.626. Bore restrictions: left -.026 (full), right -.023 (Imod). Wall thickness: left -.027, right -.029. Drop at heel: 2-1/2″, drop at comb: 1-7/16″. Weight: 6 lbs 5 oz. LOP: 13-5/8″. CONDITION: Very good. Bbls retain most of what may be orig blue, considerably thinned along sides from normal hand wear. Coin finish of action remains bright overall. Stocks retain most of what appears to be their orig oil finish with numerous heavy and light marks, nicks, and scratches, checkering somewhat worn.
