MAHOGANY CHIPPENDALE BLOCKED END SERPENTINE CHEST OF DRAWERS.Massachusetts, 1765-1785. A rare, desirable and diminutive example with pleasing proportions and high grade mahogany. The drawer graduation and potent shaping to drawer fronts is echoed in the base molding, conforming top, and cockbeaded case. The cast brass hardware in original holes and possibly original. Highly companionable with another example being offered in this sale. SIZE: Case: 31-1/2″ h x 33″ w x 18-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From a Maine/Texas estate being sold unreserved.
