*TRULY EXCEPTIONAL, HIGH ORIGINAL CONDITION, INVESTMENT QUALITY CHARLES DALY REGENT DIAMOND GRADE SEXTUPLE SINGLE BARREL TRAP GUN.

SN 26380. Cal. 12 GA 2-3/4″ Chamber. 32″ Bbl with raised, matted, ventilated rib is gold inlaid “Charles Daly Regent Diamond Quality” on unmatted portion. Breech area is relief engraved with exceptionally well carved fern leaves transitioning to well cut open shaded scroll and terminating in small scroll. Witten Excelsior Steel logos are in front of scroll engraving. Bottom of bbl is stamped with steel type, SN, and German imperial proofs with a date of 1/32. Case hardened scallop-backed boxlock action has Daly’s “improved sextuple locking system” which has two sliding bolts in square section action top, which intersect projections on rear of bbl. Action has no safety, and has gold plated trigger. Top fence and side bolsters are relief carved with shell designs at tops and olive leaves and olives along bolsters. Remainder of action is nearly fully engraved with exceptionally well cut, large, open, shaded scroll. This scroll surrounds game scenes in oval vignettes with major subjects relief gold inlaid with exquisite detail. A gold inlaid pointer is standing on rock and pointing on left side of action. Four gold inlaid grouse fly over meadowland on right. Both sides of action are flush gold inlaid “CHARLES DALY”. Bottom of action portrays usual face-on flying duck surmounted by a regents crown, both in full relief gold. Matching scroll engraved trigger guard bow has really cool scene of a gold inlaid weasel attacking a pheasant while it is perched on a branch. SN is in oval device at grip. Beautiful feather crotch figured and strikingly marbled dense European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-3/4″ over Silver type pad, and features fancy border checkering at grip with pattern pierced by fleur-di-lis as flush drop points. Side panels are also checkered and have chip-carved borders. A gold oval on toe line is engraved “L”. Matching long slightly flared beavertail ejector forend has Deeley type release. Bore diameter: .740. Bore restrictions: .054 (extra full). Wall thickness: .072. Drop at heel: 1-13/16″, drop at comb: 1-5/8″. Weight: 8 lbs 11 oz. LOP: 14-3/4″. Gun is accompanied by black ABS case with three combination locks embossed “Jaqua’s”. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Robert Burg. Special Note: This item contains or is made of ivory. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, near new, retaining nearly all of what appears to be its orig finishes on metal parts, with just a hint of silvering on the sharpest edges of relief engraving on action adding to its depth. Stocks are excellent, retaining most of what appears to be their orig finish with a possibility of light refinish on butt portion, with adjustment of comb and installation of pad. There are only the slightest visible handling marks on wood and metal. All screw heads appear unturned. Mechanically crisp.
