An oil on canvas depicting a gentleman seated with his left hand tucked into his jacket. His blue eyes gaze at the viewer with his hair swept forward in the Napoleonic fashion of the early 19th century. The background is rendered in flat grays and browns. Portrait is housed in an early 20th century giltwood frame with Child’s Gallery label affixed to foam core backing. Inscribed in pencil on stretcher. SIZE: 30″ x 25″. Overall 34-3/4″ x 30″. CONDITION: Good restored condition, minor retouch in background, small areas of retouch in gentleman face (two horizontal cracks restored), canvas buckle 51335-12 (5,000-7,000) – Lot 2103
