FINE FEDERAL INLAID MAHOGANY CARD TABLE.

1810-15, Salem, Massachusetts. Hinged mahogany top with half serpentine sides, ovolo corners, and elliptic front above the conforming frieze with rectangular figural birch panels bordered by rosewood crossbanding raised on swelled and tapering ring-turned reeded legs headed by reeded three-quarter engaged colonettes terminating in slender cylindrical feet. NOTE: The frontal legs are secured to the frieze reinforced by unusual “W” shaped glue block. SIZE: 29-1/2″ h x 36-1/2″ w x 18-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: John S. Walton Antiques. From a fine private Long Island, NY collection. CONDITION: Table retains near full height, the original surfaces professionally cleaned and polished, the top remains true with absence of bowing or warping.
