ANTONIO JACOBSEN (American, 1850-1921) PORTRAIT OF THE STEAMER “MORRO CASTLE”.

Oil on board. Scene shows the two stack, black hulled vessel going right to left, flying an American flag off stern. Double white deck with four figures, two masts and two black stacks billowing smoke. A white pennant off one of the masts indicates it is a ship of the Ward Line. White tipped blue waves under a gray and pink highlighted white cloud sky. Housed in a period stained oak frame with gold lining. Signed lower right “Antonio Jacobsen 1910/ 31 Palisade Ave. West Hoboken NJ.” Listed as No. 7 on page 208/209 of the book Antonio Jacobsen, The Checklist. SIZE: 22″ x 35-3/4″.
