DUTCH BAROQUE STYLE FAUX TORTOISE SHELL AND BRASS MOUNTED WALL MIRROR.

2nd half 19th century. The rectangular beveled mirror plate within a bolection molded faux tortoise shell surround beneath an architectural shaped crest applied sheets of molded brass depicting scrolling fruits and floral vines centering the bust of a cherub flanked by torches. The outer frame with ebonized molding trimmed with similar decorated brass throughout. SIZE: 44″ h x 27″ w. PROVENANCE: Original contents from the estate of Louise Alida Livingston, Oyster Bay, L.I., N.Y. Removed from the family home, Greenport L. I., N.Y. CONDITION: Mirror plate very good.
