SN C141. Cal. 12 ga. 2-3/4” Chambers. 30″ Bbls are marked for Imod and full. Bbls have wide, “broadway” ventilated rib with Bradley white front, and small white mid, beads. They are marked “FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTEL BELGIQUE” on left side. “MADE IN BELGIUM”, chamber, and patent info is on right. Coin finished, rounded, Browning OU action has coin finished sgl selective trigger with checkered finger blade. Action is engraved with near full coverage of exceptionally well cut open scrolled acanthus with floral highlights. This fine engraving surrounds ovoid relief gold inlaid scenes of dogs retrieving game. A quartering portrait of retriever retrieving duck with reeds in background is on left, and a spaniel retrieves a cock pheasant from a corn field, on right. Left scene is signed “R. Capece”. Nicely stump and fiddle figured claro walnut long tang flat knob buttstock measures 14-1/8″ over Browning open sided white line pad. Modified point pattern checkering wraps around top of grip. Matching 1-pc forend is of flared beavertail type. Bore diameter: top -.724, bottom -.725. Bore restrictions: top: .038 (full), bottom: .028 (Imod). Drop at heel: 1-1/2″, drop at comb: 1-7/16″. Weight: 8 lbs 8 oz. LOP: 14-1/8″. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Robert Burg. CONDITION: Excellent, showing little use, with only a few light handling and assembly marks on wood and metal.
