LARGE AND VERY APPEALING STEIFF RIDING LAMB WITH IDs.Circa 1930s, Germany. A standing, unjointed lamb on a metal riding carriage with a wooden steering handle. Lamb is made from white lamb’s wool plush. Her face, ears, and lower legs are made from short white mohair. Her authentic face comes to life with green and black glass pupil eyes, hand embroidery, and airbrushing. She has leather hooves and a working pull voice. Her bell is most likely original. The lamb rides upon four red metal wheels. With Steiff long trailing “f” style button and traces of her paper ear tag. This model was produced in 9 sizes ranging from 14 to 80 cm from 1930 through 1943. This model is an impressive size and would make a delightful focal point in a nursery, country home, or in a springtime vignette display. SIZE: 22″ h (56 cm) x 26″ w (66 cm). CONDITION: Fair to good. Wear consistent with age and nature of item. Plush wear and losses, especially on the back riding area. One hoof with small hole.
