WEDGWOOD FAIRYLAND LUSTRE MALFREY POT.

Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre malfrey pot is decorated in the fairy slide and birds nest robbers pattern. The intricate pattern depicts blue fairies stealing eggs from a birds nest, while the colorful bird flies above. Another panel shows a green fairy climbing a tree with a bridge in the background and a sage meditating above the bridge. The slide panel depicts brown imps sliding down a slide from the top of a sycamore tree with a large purple-winged fairy looking on. The pattern is all set against a flame background. The malfrey pot is finished with a dome lid with bridge design and blue, green fairies below. The inside of the lid is decorated with a brightly colored blue foreground, with birds and fairies playing with a green oriental style castle in the background against a yellow sky.Signed on the underside with gray Portland vase mark “Wedgwood Made in England” and numbered “Z5360”. SIZE: 7-1/4″ t x 8″ dia. CONDITION: Malfrey pot is very good to excellent with some minor wear to gilding on lip. Dome lid has been professionally restored. 5-69598 (12,000-15,000) – Lot 2084
