AMERICAN MAHOGANY TALL CASE CLOCK WITH BROKEN ARCH BONNET.

Late 18th century. Broken arch pediment bonnet having brass rosettes and finial with outset reeded columns. The mahogany case with inset quarter columns overlaid with figured mahogany, and block faced pediment and capitol. Crotch mahogany faced door with double tombstone top, base with inset and molded crotch mahogany panel, all sitting atop a scrolling bracket base. Brass time and strike weight driven movement having iron painted dial with ships and flowers. SIZE: 87-1/2″ h. CONDITION: Bonnet top scrolls and finial re-glued after earlier reduction in bonnet height. Bracket base, an old replacement. Case, having old refinish.
