FEDERAL INLAID MAHOGANY TAMBOUR DESK.

Circa 1800, Massachusetts. In 2 parts, the upper section with tambour compartments each opening to interior of 2 drawers above valanced pigeon holes centering a prospect door with central patera withing a crossbanded border, fitted to the lower case section. The hinged lid opening to a baise lined writing surface over 4 graduated long drawers, string inlaid with cockbeaded edges and original oval brasses. The whole on bracket feet with shaped returns.
