OUTSTANDING CUSTOM ORDERED 19TH CENTURY LARGE DINNER SERVICE BY SPODE.Pattern number 2961, each piece marked “Spode/2961”. The decoration is in sprays of colorful flowers against a white blank with raised flowers. Each piece having a gilt outside edge. Circa 1st quarter 19th century. Lot consists of: platters; two 22-1/2″, 20″ (with visible surface scratches), 17-1/2″, two 16″, four 14″ (two cracked), four 12″, four 10″, 20″ well and tree, 18″ well and tree. Three 10″ covered serving bowls (one cover repaired). Three 7-1/2″ covered sauce tureens with under plates. Two 13″ h covered tureen with under plate. 9″ square center bowl. Two 11″ open serving bowls. Two 9-1/4″ open serving bowls. Sixteen 9-1/2″ shallow soup bowls. Forty-eight 9-3/4″ plates. Eighteen 9-1/2″ plates (one cracked). Forty-seven 8″ plates. Approximately 162 pieces. PROVENANCE: Original contents from the estate of Louise Alida Livingston, Oyster Bay, L.I., N.Y. Removed from the family home, Greenport L. I., N.Y.
