Germany. Elaborate and important carousel toy shows six gondola boats with paper propellers at rear. Riders are hand-painted, embossed tin figures. Tin American flags fly above. Three-tier base has hand-painted reticulated design. Upon winding, carousel spins with beautiful, graceful movement. SIZE: Base is 10″ w x 18″ t. CONDITION: Boats are nearly complete with some tattering to paper propellers. Windup mechanism is working, but needs prompting to start. Tin base has 10-20% loss of paint.
