GROUP OF NINE DARK BLUE STAFFORDSHIRE PLATES FEATURING NAUTICAL AND HISTORIC SCENES.

1) Early 20th Century. Small dark blue decorative plate “The Mayflower in Plymouth Harbor” marked on reverse copyright 1906 A.S. Burbank, Plymouth Mass. bearing the company mark of Rowland & Marsellus. 2) 19th Century. Dark blue transfer decorated Staffordshire toddy plate “Commodore Mac Donnough’s Victory” with the impressed eagle mark E. Wood and Sons Buslem, with pearl glaze. 3) 19th Century. Transfer decorated dark blue Straffordshire plate “Hospital Boston” with pearl glaze. 4) 20th Century. Blue transfer ironstone plate “American Marine” marked Mason’s Patent Ironstone China, England. 5) 19th Century. Dark blue Staffordshire plate “Commodore Mac Donnough’s Victory” impressed mark Wood. 6) 19th Century. Dark blue Staffordshire deep plate “Beauties of America, Octogon Church, Boston” marked R.W. Ridgway with pearl glaze. 19th Century. 7&8) 20th Century. Two dark blue transfer decorated plates “Massachusetts State House, Boston Mass.” marked Rowland & Marsellus, Staffordshire, England. 9) 20th Century. Dark blue Staffordshire plate “Faneuil Hall, Boston from the Harbor” marked with Rowland & Marsellus mark. SIZE: 1.) 6″ dia. 2) 6-1/2″ dia. 3) 8-1/4″ dia. 4) 8″ dia. 5) 9-1/4″ dia. 6) 9-3/4″ dia. 7&8) 10″ dia. 9) 10″ dia. PROVENANCE: From a Maine collection. CONDITION: 1) Very good. 2) Very slight wear and very few scratches. 3) Very small spot of darkening and very minor flake on on reverse having very minor wear and scratches. 4) Very good with overall glaze crazing. 5) Top with minor scratches and high spot wear, back with scratches, wear to base and three inch darkened hairline crack. 6) Top with 3/4 inch edge flake and minor scratches and back with small amount of discoloration. 7&8) Very good with a few minor scratches. 9) Very good condition. 9-94550 (700-900) – Lot 2064
