*BROWNING OLYMPIAN GRADE ENGRAVED BY R. RISAK AND CHARLES LEGIERS.SN 1X8648. Cal. 30-06. 22″ Medium weight tapered bbl has Browning Arms Co with St. Louis and Montreal addresses on left, and with caliber, SN, and “MADE IN BELGIUM” on right. There are 2-1/4″ triangles of acanthus scroll engraving at breech end. Coin finished action is engraved with more open shaded scroll, and has big game animals on receiver ring; bugling elk on left, and running pronghorn on right. Elk scene is unsigned. Antelope scene is signed “Legiers”. Bottom metal with hinged floorplate continues with the scrolled acanthus theme surrounding quartering portrait of mule deer peering through bracken and vines, with birch tree in background. A face-on grizzly bear is on trigger guard bow. Mule deer scene is signed “R. Risak”. Fine claro walnut stock has fiddle figure, and features rosewood forend tip with white line, and matching flared grip cap with inset gold diamond and has Browning composition buttplate. Checkering at grip and forend is flanked by relief carved acanthus scroll with broad stippled borders. Weight: 7 lbs. 10 oz. LOP: 13-5/8″. PROVENANCE: Rod Fuller Estate Collection. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine. Appears unfired since proof, with only a few light handling marks on stock, checkering and carving bright and undarkened. Gold has some marks. Mechanically crisp.
