EARLY AMERICAN TIN ALTHOF BERGMAN CLOCKWORK “LION” LOCOMOTIVE.

A marvelous heavily detailed early American tin clockwork engine with articulated front end. This locomotive has an engine cab with “fire hydrant” windows, unusual large cast iron drive wheels, great simulated head lamp, but perhaps the finest feature being the articulated front end. This is a standalone toy that needs no apologies or passenger car accompaniments. Please take note that it is unusual to find these early locomotives with sand domes and/or running boards covering their large drive wheels such as this example. SIZE: 12″ l.
