WINCHESTER MODEL 1885 SINGLE SHOT LOW WALL RIFLE WITH CASE COLORED RECEIVER.

SN 55204. Cal. .25 WCF. 30″ NO.1 oct bbl, patented ivory bead front sight, Buckhorn rear sight mounted in reverse, straight grained American walnut stocks with checkered wrist and forearm, steel shotgun buttplate, and Schnabel forend with ebony insert. Mechanics: hammer drops from safety position. Bbl retains 60-70% blue finish with some staining towards the muzzle around the sight. Sights are very good. Rear sight is mounted in reverse. Bbl markings are sharp and clear. Bore is frosty with strong rifling. Receiver shows 50% muted case color overall, with some light scratches and stains. Hammer shows generous traces of case colors, especially at the rear. Lever is a plum/brown patina with traces of case color in protected areas. Stocks are very good, full sized, with only minor handling marks overall. Checkering is coarse, nicely accomplished. Forearm checkering shows some bruising. Buttplate is a mottled gray/brown patina with some roughness. Ebony insert is fine.
