PAINTED LEATHER FIRE BUCKET, DATED 1790.

Circa 18th century, New England. Leather, iron, marked “L. Chappotin, No. 1, 1790”, in fine yellow calligraphy, against Windsor Green body with black trim. The name within a scrolled banner with flourish above center. “No. 1″ within oval lozenge with scrolled ends. Interior painted red. SIZE: 18” t. to top of handle. CONDITION: Very good, age appropriate abrasions, leather good, stitching intact, professionally restored handle. 9-96585 (1,000-2,000) – Lot 2036
