WINCHESTER MODEL 1876 RIFLE.

SN 47316. Cal. .40-60. 28″ oct bbl, full mag, blue and case color finish, straight grained American walnut stocks with crescent butt. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl and mag show a smooth plum/brown patina overall with traces of blue in protected areas. Knife blade front sight and ’76 ladder sight are in good condition. Markings are clear. Bore is dark with visible rifling. Receiver is a smooth gray/brown patina with traces of case color in protected areas, especially around the hammer. Elevator is a mustard/yellow patina with a sharp cal mark and slight evidence of cleaning. Right side of receiver has “J.S.Norris” scratched into it. Hammer and lever are dark brown patina with a hint of case color on the hammer. Stocks are very good, full sized, and show handling marks and dents commensurate with the age of the rifle. Buttplate and forend cap are also a gray/brown patina. A nice example of a ’76 rifle with a desirable case colored finish. 51138-11 TEP (1,500-2,500) – Lot 2034
