CHIPPENDALE WALNUT BALL AND CLAWFOOT DROP LEAF TABLE.

2nd half 18th century, Pennsylvania. The rectangular top of single figured walnut board, with hinged D-form leaves projecting above the deeply arched apron, raised on cabriole legs with shapes and scalloped returns terminating in bold ball and talon feet. SIZE: 28-3/4″ h x 45-1/2″ l x 19-1/2″ w. CONDITION: Old professional restoration to top notably along hinges. Includes splicing in of boards at each long side of top. Some patches placed in top and leaves. Stress repairs at top of legs where pegged at apron. Re-polished. 9-96833 (2,000-2,500) – Lot 2030
