WINCHESTER FIRST MODEL 1873 RIFLE.

SN 2490. Cal. .44 WCF. 24″ rnd bbl, full mag, blue finish, straight grained American walnut stocks with crescent butt. CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbl and mag tube show a mottled plum/brown patina overall with some staining toward the muzzle. Sights are good. Bbl mark is sharp and clear. Bore is dark with visible rifling. Receiver is a mottled gray/brown patina overall with some roughness and gouges. Dust cover is missing. Hammer and lever are a dark brown patina, lever loop is slightly bent. Elevator has a mustard/brown patina with a few dents. Tang markings are clear but slightly worn. Upper tang has been repaired at the rear screw. Stocks are good but undersized and have been cleaned and refinished probably at the time of the tang repair. Stocks show handling marks overall commensurate with the age of the rifle. Buttplate and forend cap are a mottled silver/gray patina. An opportunity to obtain a colorful Winchester first model ’73 rifle that surely saw service in the Old West. 51379-22 TEP (2,000-3,000) – Lot 2014
