RARE FIRST MODEL 1873 RIFLE WITH THREE DIGIT SERIAL NUMBER.

SN 632. Cal. .44 WCF. 24″ rnd bbl, full mag, blue finish, straight grained American walnut stocks with crescent butt. Rifle has rear bbl sight mounted in reverse which is correct for this early model. Dust cover has a 1/2 oval raised thumbprint CONDITION: Good to very good for this model. Bbl and mag tube show a mottled silver/gray patina with erosion overall. Bbl address is legible. Sights are good. Bore is dark with strong rifling. Receiver has been cleaned to a silver/gray patina overall with slight traces of blue near left side plate. Metal striations are clearly visible on receiver. Dust cover is correct with raised thumbprint. Hammer and lever are also a silver/gray patina. Stocks are good, slightly undersized, and have been cleaned long ago. Stocks match the condition of the rifle. Buttplate shows considerable erosion and has been cleaned to a silver/gray patina, as in the forend cap.
